Noche Latina was a vibrant celebration of Latin culture filled with music, food, and community spirit. Hosted by HOLA (Hispanic Organization for Leadership Achievement) on Oct. 10 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the event brought students together with Latin rhythms from Salsa to Merengue.
Guests wore red and black to symbolize unity for Latin American Culture. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, dancing, and phenomenal vibes through the roof. Attendees indulged in Latin cuisine such as carnitas, along with refreshing Jarritos drinks.
Leading up to Noche Latina, HOLA hosted several successful events throughout September, including tastings of Pan Dulce and Aguas Frescas as well as an RA and HOLA movie night featuring “Bajo la Misma Luna (Under the Same Moon)” – a heartfelt film that celebrates family and perseverance within the Latin community. The movie night highlighted the beauty and diversity of Latin culture while creating a welcoming space for students to connect, celebrate, and learn. Noche Latina was a memorable culmination of Hispanic Heritage Month, highlighting vibrant art, meaningful films, traditional foods, and much more. Moreover, it recognizes that Latin Americans have been a part of American history for centuries and should be celebrated year-round.
