The Pierrette Players Gear Up for the Fall Play

By: Dylan Sattler

On Monday, Sept. 29, auditions for Salem’s fall play, “All The Rage,” took place.

“All The Rage” is a raunchy and edgy show that follows 10 characters whose stories intertwine in complex and violent ways. The story, created by Keith Reddin, was turned into a movie in 1999, “It’s The Rage,” featuring “Friends” star David Schwimmer, Anna Paquin, Josh Brolin, Andre Braugher, Jeff Daniels, Joan Allen, and others. The story follows the characters through conflicts, jealousy, and a whole lot of unethical conduct. The story was originally set in the 1990s. However, the setting of the story can be malleable to any time period.

Auditions went from 6-9 p.m. The director, Ashley Pearson, gave each person auditioning a chance to read for different characters. At the end, they were allowed to read for a character they liked. Each person auditioning was also required to fill out two forms: a conflict calendar and an interest form. The conflict calendar plays a big role in creating the cast list, because accepting a role means committing to attending rehearsals. If someone has a scheduling conflict, they will be less likely to get a role.

The cast list was released on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 2, and the show will feature Lillian Allen, Alex Angelini, Lyn Bailey, Lera Foust, S.C. George, Faith Meadows,  Izzie Menius, Emma De Noble, and Maureen White. The show dates for “All The Rage” are Nov. 20-22. Mark your calendars to come out and support this amazing cast!
