On Oct. 3, 2025, Salem siblings and accompanying guests entered the Salem College Student Center to party like it was the 2000s! CAB’s Fall Lawn event was the first of four annual events thrown by CAB each school year. Although typically held in Bryant Hall, the event was moved this year to the Student Center. This new location offered a variety of experiences for attendees, including a screening of “Mean Girls,” the Sensory Safe Space (made possible by a collaboration between Active Minds and CAB), a BBQ feast, photo-ops, freebies such as temporary tattoos, a DJ, and a dance floor. One feature in particular is unique for attendees, which is the Sensory Safe Space. Since its inception in 2024, the Sensory Safe Space has gained popularity at a variety of Salem events. Originally, this concept was created by CAB’s Treasurer, Lyn Bailey. The space includes items such as coloring books, earplugs and fidget toys and offers a space for those looking for a quiet space during the event to relax and contemplate.
Since the initial success and positive feedback, Active Minds has become a collaborator on the Sensory Safe Space. This being said, no matter where attendees spent their time– from the dance floor to the sensory space, CAB’s Y2K Fall Lawn event brought Salem siblings, from first year to senior, together in true Salem-spirited fun.
