The Class of 2029 kicked off their first year on the Salem College tennis team with energy, camaraderie, and plenty of fun. The tennis pre-season made the first years embrace the highs and lows of collegiate competition.
For the first years, the adjustment to college life has not been an easy one. Many missed family and initially struggled to be social, but over time, the first years have blossomed into social butterflies, forming close bonds and supporting each other both on and off the court.
What unites the Class of 2029 is their love of tennis and the joy of teamwork. Win or lose, practice or match, the first years bond over humor, common goals, and a sense of belonging. Laughter and lightheartedness began to characterize their first year.
Looking ahead, the Class of 2029 anticipates more matches, traveling to compete against other colleges, and continued team growth. Aside from the fun and competition, they hope to leave a lasting, positive impression on Salem tennis. They hope to be a “hope of light” for future players by leading on and off the court and creating a welcoming environment, ensuring that when they leave Salem, they can look back with pride and satisfaction.
The Class of 2029 has already demonstrated that their first year is about more than just tennis—it is about connecting, growing, and creating a team legacy that will last for years.
